Pretty Bluebells from the Garden
The only Garnier products I've ever used is the shampoo and conditioner and a hair dye. I used another brand for years but suddenly had a reaction to the dye and my skin blistered where I had applied some of the mixture for the skin test. Thankfully I do skin tests each and every time as I would hate to think what it would have done to my scalp!
I find the Garnier hair dye to be quite gentle on my hair and I love the conditioner that comes in the box. It makes my hair really shiny and smells really fresh afterwards. Same with the shampoo and conditioner. I ran out and used another brand and found that it stripped some of the dye from my hair! Imagine my horror when I saw brown soapy suds as I rinsed my hair.
Anyway back to my little sample. The shape of the packaging was square and pink, which immediately caught my attention. I do love pretty things. On the front, it says "Want to know a skincare secret?" Well yes I do! I'm open to learning any skin care secrets.
I have always looked after my skin, using cleanser, toner and moisturizer from a young age. My skin care routine now consists of a facial wash, cleanser, toner and moisturizer using both a day and a night cream. I also use dozens of eye creams and to be fair I do not have many wrinkles. Maybe one or two if I care to admit it, but even then you do have to look closely.
Inside the pretty pink packaging were three sachets of Moisture Match Tailor made moisturizer One for combination to oily skin, one for normal skin and one for dull skin. I would have to say my skin is normal but I was very intrigued to try out the one for dull skin. While my skin may not be dull, it doesn't have a lovely glow to it with out applying lots of make up!
Moisture Match for Combination/Oily Skin
What the sample says: An oil free and lightweight cream enriched with Green Tea extract and micro-spheres It will help give a matte effect to your skin
When I opened the sample, I was immdeiatey greeted with such a refreshing scent. It certaintly made it very pleasent to apply and some skin moisterisisers can smell heavily strong which can often be off putting. The cream glided onto my skin and left it feeling very smooth. True to it's word it didn't leave any greasy residue on my skin.
Moisture Match for Normal Skin
What the sample says: Combining SPF 20 with an extremely lightweight and oil free texture. Plus its light reflecting pearls with give you that just got back from the beach glow, with out the tan lines.
Oh yes please! The sun may not be shining today but I would like my skin to certaintly look like a nice healthy glow from the sun. I found this sample to be lightly scented which is good as it wouldnt be too overpowering with my perfume. It felt nice to apply and didnt make my face look greasy. However it didnt leave my skin looking sun kissed either. My skin did feel very soft afterwards and it was really nice to use as a base for my foundation.
Moisture Match for Dull Skin
what the sample says: A gel that feels like an immdeiate splash of freshness on your skin - a real wake up call! Its oil free and super quick to absorb, giving you a feeling of hydration that lasts all day!
This cream really did smell very refreshing but was very greasy for my skin and I didn't like the texture. My face felt greasy and I had to wash it off. I would say this moisteriser would be great for dry/dull skin. It did absorb into my skin quickly like it states but I just think it wasn't the right moisteriser for my skin.
I would definately love to try the moisteriser for Normal skin for longer. My only complaint was that the sample could have been bigger!
Please note that I have not been asked by anyone at Garnier to write this blog post. I was sent a free sample and I wanted to share my honest opinion.
